Cadel Evans won yesterdays stage at the Tirreno-Adriatico in Macerata, beating some of the best riders in the Peleton. The Australian now has the outright lead, heading into the Timetrail today. Look out for Cadel and his BMC team mates this year at the Tour, he looks to be in very good form.

It was time to put some training into action…

Becs and I headed for Forrest straight from work and arrived at the oval as the drizzle was making its presence felt. A light but consistent blanket of misty rain was looking like settling in, which was no surprise to any that had been following the weather radar for the week.
It was Otway Odyssey time! All that was left to do was sleep the night through and get to the start line.
Registration was painless and the first social port of call for the weekend. It took a while to get from the car to the rego tents as I kept running into folk that I really only get a chance to catch up with at these type of events. A couple of Adelaide crew had spent a long day driving over and were glad to be done for the day, while most others had made their way down from Melbourne and surrounds. With rego sorted out we headed back for the road to Apollo Bay to put in place the final preparations.

Specialized Bikes have been traveling the country the last few months with a great bike demo program. The last one saw hundards of people test riding Road and Mountain bikes at Westerfolds Park.
This week we are set up at the Geelong waterfront in conjunction with the USM Geelong Triathlon. From Friday to Sunday you can come along and try out any one of the great bikes Specialized have on offer. One question we get asked a lot at the shop is what type of bike I should ride. Well to come out and try the racey Tarmac [which got 1st and 2nd at last years Tour] or the Roubaix bike will hopefully answer any of your questions. A full size run is on offer so head on down to Geelong water front.
You must bring your own Helmet, shoes [pedals ] and Credit card and license [for a ID check] to secure a test ride.

RIDE UPDATE………….. Monday 22 NOV.

With the best weather for the summer so far we travelled down the Geelong road to the MTB Park of the You Yangs. Specialized Bikes put on a great show for all those who turned up. For those lucky riders they were spoilt with a couple of Hundred Thousand dollars worth of Bike Porn. With both Road and MTB on offer the choice was huge.
The bike of choice  “Epic 29er”, was undoubtedly the most sort after. A few of our customers remarked at what a different feel Carbon MTB bikes had compared to their own Specialized dualies. I think most would agree that their next bike will be a 29er carbon!

Thanks to Jay and Pat and all the crew from Specialized Bikes for making it a great weekend. For those who missed out the SBC road show will be in Tassie next month and early Feb at Mt Buller [National Series MTB]

With the new range of 2011 Specialized bikes hitting the floor we have organised a “Demo Day” at the YouYangs for you to come try the best bike in the land!

With 30 Specialized mountain bikes on offer this will be an event not to be missed. Models include Epics ,Stumpjumper ,Pitch, Enduro’s and also the 29er range. Full size range in most bikes so bring along your shoes and helmets and test the bikes over some great trails at the You Yangs. There will be some road models to try out as well. We will have to sort out the unsealed road section to try these bikes.

Well done to Paul Attard finishing 3rd in the Elite’s yesterday. Well done to all who got through the race. Thankfully Saturday’s weather stayed away.

With the weather forecast looking pretty ordinary for the weekend it was going to be a different race to what we are used to in Shepparton. Usually the temperature is in the high 30′s and even 40′s!
